MARTA CERDA, J.D.
ASI CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
With 35+ years of experience in the corporate, nonprofit, and public-sectors, Marta Cerda is chief executive officer of ASI, a leader in home health that also provides training, workforce development, and advocacy for health equity, with a focus on serving Black and Latino populations in the Chicago region.
Marta’s leadership has brought innovation, strategic management, intentional oversight, and ambitious goal-setting to grow and transform the organization. During her tenure at ASI, she has streamlined operations, converted the agency from traditional home care to an innovative care continuum, and introduced new technology to increase service hours and improve efficiency.
A dynamic leader who has been lauded for her success in keeping an essential community hospital from the edge of bankruptcy and closure, Marta builds consensus for needed change in critical areas, and meets pressing needs in real-time.
Marta has served on many different corporate and nonprofit boards. In this capacity of governance, she has led the charge on some of the most challenging issues facing society today, especially health equity and access to quality care. She doesn't waste time, values tact, straight talk, and brings energy, and a can-do attitude to problem-solving.
Marta continues to lead with wit and grace, understanding the nuances of negotiation and the reward for patience.
Marta earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University's Chicago School of Law. She is a candidate for the Northwestern-Kellogg School Executive Scholar Program and was a National Hispana Leadership Institute fellow, where she attended the Center for Creative Leadership and a Harvard Kennedy School public policy course. She is currently a How Women Lead - Women Leaders for the World fellow.
